Open Reduction of Facial Fractures

Fractures of the facial bones can be caused in many ways and are associated with pain, bruising and swelling of the affected area(s) although these symptoms can be present without a fracture. A facial bone CT scan is done to confirm the presence of a fracture and used to guide their repair. This is performed under general anesthesia and depending of the extent of the injury, can be performed as an outpatient procedure.
