Septoplasty

The nasal septum is the separation between the two nostrils.  A septoplasty is performed to correct a “crooked” or “deviated” septum.  It is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia.  Depending on the amount of bleeding during your surgery as well as your surgeon’s preference, either one or both sides of your nose will be packed following the procedure.  This packing is generally removed the day after your surgery.
