Vocal Cord Nodule/Polyp

A vocal cord nodule is a small inflammatory growth that develops on the vocal cord due to straining ones voice. A vocal cord polyp is a "swelling" of the mucous membrane covering the vocal cord. As the polyp grows, it takes on a rounded shape. Both can cause changes in ones voice and treatment, such as; rest, therapy, modification of ones behavior, and sometimes surgical removal.
