Referrals and Authorizations

At Delta Medix, we are committed to providing you with timely access to the physicians in our group.

We work collaboratively with your Primary Care Physician's office to insure that all medical information is in order for your visit. If your insurance requires a referral to a specialist, you are required to obtain that approval prior to your visit to Delta Medix. If hospitalization is necessary we will continue to provide you with a high level of service by working with your Primary Care Physician so that your pre-admission tests and any pre-certification for your admission required by your insurance plan is completed by the beginning of your hospital stay. Please understand, your insurance may require medical review which can sometimes delay surgery. We are here to assist you but many times it is beyond our control due to the medical review policies of your insurance. If this happens, we will communicate with you as to the status of your hospitalization as we work toward a resolution.

At Delta Medix, our primary interest is making the resources of our organization available to you, when you need them, and to meet your heath care needs. We will make every effort to work with you, your Primary Care Physician and your insurance plan to insure this goal is obtained.

Your Health Plan Benefits

We believe that it is important for you to understand the extent of your health insurance coverage and the responsibilities you have as part of that coverage. Many plans include co payment and deductible requirements and have limitations on how you can access the specialty care services you may sometimes need.

We encourage you to review your coverage prior to a visit with your Delta Medix physician. If you have any questions, call your health plan's member services department. They are there to serve you and their number is usually listed on your insurance card and in their member handbook.

We do ask that you and your dependents bring your health insurance ID cards with you to any visit with a Delta Medix physician. This will help us to insure that you receive the coverage to which you are entitled.


We are required by our participation in insurance plans to collect co-payments at time of service. At no time are we allowed by our agreements to waive any portion of this requirement except for financial hardship. For your convenience we accept cash, checks and debit and credit cards.

Insurance Plans With Which Delta Medix Participates:

Delta Medix participates with many insurance plans, but our participation does change periodically. Please check with your Insurance Company or Business Services Office if you have any questions as to Delta Medix participation in a particular plan.

Non Participating Insurance Plans:

For patients with insurance plans which Delta Medix does not participate, financial arrangements must be agreed upon prior to any visit or payment in full is expected at time of service. Failure to adhere to this policy can result in cancellation of a scheduled visit.
